How do I sign up for an activity program?
An intake process needs to be completed prior to booking in for a group program at Focal. This requires participants to have returned a signed service agreement, fee schedule, and complete new client intake forms.
To start the intake process, submit the enquiry form on this page and a staff member will make contact with you to begin intake.
How much support is provided at activity programs?
All Focal clients receiving individual support (one-on-one) can link in to a group program with their support worker anytime.
All of our programs can cater for a support ratio of 1:1 as per individual requirements, otherwise group support is provided as 1:2 or 1:3 depending on the type of program. If you would like to know more, our friendly team can assist.
What are activity fees?
All of our group programs have an activity fee to cover the cost of incidentals and consumables. This amount usually does not exceed $30 per activity (excluding school holiday activities).
All activity fees are communicated in advance through the group activity planner. All costs will be discussed with you before you agree to sign a service agreement.
What ages do your activities cater for?
Our programs are suitable for people with disability of all ages. We have activities that cater for:
- Children (5 – 12 years)
- Young People (13 – 18 years)
- Adults (19 – 40 years)
- Adults (Over 40 years)
What locations do activities run from?
Some of our programs are centre-based, others are community-based and some are a mixture of both.
You can join a program wherever it suits you best – programs run from our community hubs in Ipswich and Brisbane’s western suburbs or meet in the community depending on the activities planned.
